For us at the chamber Gold Rush Days was our most successful event yet. A special thanks to all of our sponsors for this event and our volunteers. The winners of the Duck Race were Tricia Neesen with duck #75 won first place $500.00 and Lynn Selsing with duck #133 was the last duck in and won $250.00. All of the scheduled events went over well with no issues. We are continuing to evolve each year to incorporate more of our Town’s history and celebrate our prospector heritage. Special thank you to Jim Vowell with Fairway Independent Mortgage who wrote and produced the new show called “A cowboy and a minor.” It was even recorded, ask Jim for you own personal viewing! Plus . . . Buena Vista Heritage Museum offered great new events and outdid themselves with the variety of the Historical Reenactments that they offered. PLEASE reach out to us with any comments or suggestions about the event since we are already signing up vendors for the 39th year of Gold Rush Days.
At Seven Peaks Music Festival we were granted a free booth to welcome and explain all the great things to do and see here in BV. We shared a space with the Chaffee County Visitor’s Bureau and East Main Street. Together we all promoted our wonderful town and the Arkansas Valley. At the Chamber & Visitor Center booth we promoted our 2018 Visitor & Relocation Guide by offering it free in hand and through a brochure with a QR code for downloading it. The two-sided BV Town and Chaffee County map was very popular. Finally, we showcased links to buy products we sell online, sold ATV raffle tickets, and answered loads of questions. Staff were at the booth all three days from lunchtime into the evening. We are always promoting you our Chamber Members and our amazing town!
Please join us for our September Business After Hours hosted by The Surf Hotel on September 20th, from 5pm to 8pm. Meet the Surf Hotel team, take a tour, enjoy delicious food and libations. BAH is for Chamber members and invited guests. Cost is $10 and will include one free drink.
