Hello Chamber Members,
Happy Fall! Hard to believe Summer has come and gone, but on to our colder season activities and events. The OHV Color Tour was a great success and we are unto planning: Small Business Saturday Nov. 24, 2018 in conjunction with the Town of Buena Vista and BV Main Street and our traditional events of Christmas Card Lane and Christmas Opening on December 1st.
Next, Four new Chamber board members have been elected to join: Ryan Martin, Kit Salway , Michael Sorrels, and Tim Stange. Thank you for those of you who took the time to vote. Due to how close the election results were, all four have been invited to serve their three year term. After all, The Chamber & Visitor Center wants active members on the board. We are also excited to announce The Surf Hotel has agreed to host our Wedding Expo coming in February, 23rd 2019. BV is the place to BE!

Please join us for our October Business After Hours hosted by The Central Colorado Regional Airport and Home Based Businesses on October 18th from 5pm to 7pm. Come explore our regional airport and meet local home based businesses here. Enjoy delicious food by Kalamatapit Catering and libations, as well as drone demos and other activities the airport has planned. This BAH is open to the public and anyone can come. Cost is $7.00 for Chamber Members and $10.00 for non-Chamber Members.
The OHV Color Tour was a success! We had a total of 188 participants which is our largest year yet in the event’s 17 years. Everyone enjoyed the outstanding warm Fall weather and taking in our picturesque views. The participant furthest away joined us all the way from the Sunshine State of Florida! Next year’s dates are September 18th-21st, 2019. This event was able to be such a success because of our sponsors. We would like to thank again: Liars’ Lodge, Arrowhead Water, Best Western Vista Inn, Biggies, Buffy’s Flowers & Gifts, BV Jeeps Mountain Adventure Rentals, Community Banks of Colorado. We are selling ads for the 2019 Town & County map and 2019 Visitor & Relocation Guide. Both will be out in January 2019. If you buy ads in both you get a 15% discount on your guide ad. We sent out a special mailing on this opportunity. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions you may have or to reserve your ad space.
All members should have received an email detailing the 2018 Christmas Card Lane. We would love your participation in this unique Buena Vista holiday display. The cards are going to be erected starting November 19th and taken down after the 1st of January. If you are interested in having a card placed along the highway please contact us. We are creating the website pages and coordinating advertising with OutThere Colorado and KOAA for this years Christmas Opening held on December 1. If you would like to be part of the Chocolate Walk, parade, showcase an event or do a special feature on this day or the weekend, or be a sponsor please let us know. Over the next several weeks we will be reaching out to you as well.
We are also putting together the venues, tours and sponsorships for our new Wedding Expo held February 23. Please let us know now if you would like to participate or offer a sponsorship at this event.

Mission of Life
Mission of Life – Behrman Ministries is a non-profit ministry bringing aid to developing countries around the world in the form of medical mission teams, visiting children’s homes and training leaders in local churches to help.
The ministry was founded by Bill and Ginger Behrman in 1993. Their first opportunity was to go to India and Nepal. They spent almost three months in that part of the world and after returning home, doors began to open in several parts of the world for them to minister. The ministry is based out of their home here in Buena Vista!
Bill and Ginger’s son Scott, and his wife Sue are also involved and have positioned themselves to embrace the call to empower the church to take the gospel where it has never gone before.
