Hello Chamber Members,

We hope you all have been enjoying the radiant colors of our beautiful fall in the mountains.  The days are cooling, the leaves are beginning to drop, and winter is just around the corner.  At the Chamber we’re busy focusing on many things from new Board of Directors members, improving our OHV/ATV Historic Color Tour, updating the OHV/ATV Book, updating the 2018 Visitor and Relocation Guide, and preparing for the Christmas season events.

First off, we would like to congratulate and welcome our new Board of Directors members.  Mark Hammer with Adventure Company Rafting, Tonya Wyles with the Slug & Chug food truck, and Morgan Mahala with Performance Tours and Sheer Elegance Salon were all recently elected.  They join existing members Tom Muller, Chris Quoyeser, Mark Waite, Erin Godonis, Cindie Swisher, Jerianna Pikul, and Kathy Ridlon.  We also want to bid a fond farewell to our outgoing board members Dennis Walker, Donna Mausbach, and Jackie Sobczak and express our thanks and gratitude for their service.

We concluded our second run of the annual OHV/ATV Historic Color Tour under the direction of the Chamber.  We were fortunate to have more participants than recent years and enjoyed three glorious days of riding through our historic sites.  Due to inclimate weather we offered just one ride Saturday but bolstered our Poker Run by adding prizes along the route.  Many participants made it to all the businesses along the route and one business owner reported an additional $700-$800 in sales from ATV Tour participants.  In addition to bringing people into town during our shoulder season this event also serves as a fundraiser for the Chamber.  Thanks largely to increased sales of the new and improved ATV in 14er Country book we made more money on this year’s event than ever before!  If you would like to purchase the new and improved book, we have a few copies left for sale at the Chamber before we send out a new edition for printing. We would like to thank the following Gold Sponsors for making this event possible: The BV Adventure Hub, BV Jeeps & ATVs, High Country Bank, Rally Liquor, and TBK Bank.  Also a special thank you to the High Rocky Riders OHV Club for supplying the outriders for this event. As always we strive to provide a quality event for both participants and our members so if you have any feedback regarding this event, please feel free to share it with us at the Chamber.

The Chamber is also busy planning the 2018 BV Visitor and Relocation Guide.  Be sure to check your business listing on to ensure that your contact information is up to date and that you have your logo and/or photos included in the listing.  All active Chamber members are listed in the printed guide.  Please click here to submit any additions or changes to your on-line Chamber listing.  We plan to have detailed content and layout for you to preview next month!

Finally, it’s that time of year again to start working on Christmas Card Lane.  If you want to spruce up your old card or create a new card, the BVHS art students will be painting 10 cards this year.  New cards are $125 and previous cards are $40 to participate.  Let us know if you want to update your card as our counts to the High School must be submitted by mid-October.

We wish you all fun in the sun before the snow falls!

Best regards, The BV Chamber Team
