MESSAGE FROM THE CHAMBER TEAM
Hello Chamber Members,
April at the Welcome Center & Chamber has been vigorous preparing for our summer season! Please help us highlight your business by reading the information below:
We are preparing our Welcome Center for the summer season and want to make sure your business/organization is represented front and center! In order to this, we need to hear from you ASAP! If you would like to display pamphlets for your business/organization in our Welcome Center this summer please let us know by emailing email@example.com. Deadline to respond is May 20. If you have dimensions/measurements for your pamphlet, please include those in your response. At this time, we can only accept 1 BOX AT A TIME due to limited space. We are here to represent YOU, but we need to hear from YOU and receive your collateral so we can knock it out of the park together.
Next, at the Welcome Center we are gearing up for a fantastic summer launch! Landon James our Welcome Center Coordinator is recruiting volunteers and planning training meetings for volunteers to get everyone ready for the summer. We have spruced up the Welcome Center by refinishing floors and rearranging displays. We have delayed the full remodel until next fall to obtain some additional grant funding to assist in the purchase of new displays, fixtures and desks.

Venture 101 Workshop: Jamie Billesbach, Marketing Specialist attended the Venture 101 work session designed to CONNECT INVESTORS AND ENTREPRENEURS WITH RESOURCES. This event was sponsored by the Chaffee County Economic Development. This session included a detailed presentation on the available capital tools from grants to loans to venture and everything in between! If you missed this event it is not too late to learn more about capital resources from the presenters with Greater Colorado Venture Fund www.GreaterColorado.VC. They are a venture capital fund investing in early stage startups headquartered across the state of Colorado, outside of the Front Range. They work to inspire innovation in places formerly overlooked by venture funds. To email them for more information go to https://www.greatercolorado.vc/contact
Pikes Peak Wonders: In 2018, the Colorado Tourism Office retained the services of Destination
Think! https://destinationthink.com to re-imagine the state’s regional borders, names and brands. As you may have heard, Chaffee County is now part of the Pikes Peak Wonders region here is a link to learn more https://www.colorado.com/region/pikes-peak-wonders. The Chaffee County Visitors Bureau sponsored the Chamber to attend a work session that was facilitated by Destination Think!, in which marketing representations from Chaffee, Freemont, Custer, Teller, El Paso and Pueblo counties explored how we can all use the new branding, both individually and collectively and collaborate on joint grant opportunities. The Colorado Tourism Office has generously underwritten this project for two test areas our Pikes Peak Wonders and the Great West Regions. This is an amazing offer from the CTO and one that Chaffee County Visitors Bureau and the Buena Vista Chamber of Commerce will leverage for the benefit of our destinations and region. The first joint session was a very inspiring with many actionable ideas that Jamie will report as they unfold.
