The Fourth of July Parade & Art in the Park in Buena Vista will be postponed until Summer of 2021
It is with a heavy heart that we are officially announcing the postponement of the Fourth of July Parade and Art in the Park until Summer of 2021.
This long-standing event that was set to take place on Saturday, July 4th, was voted Best Summer Event in BV last year. The day includes a parade down Main Street followed by art vendors, music and entertainment at McPhelemy Park. “We love this event and we know the community loves this event too, so this was not an easy decision for any of us.” However, in lieu of the current threats that the COVID-19 pandemic has to the health of our community, we all feel this is the best thing to keep our volunteers, vendors, spectators and community healthy and safe.
The Chamber is looking at other 4th of July activities on a much smaller scale that would allow for social distancing and also would meet the guidelines the State of Colorado and Chaffee County has put in place regarding group gatherings. Our mission for all of our events is to promote our members and small businesses, so we will continue to strive to do that throughout the summer and beyond.
We appreciate the support of the Town of Buena Vista, Chaffee County Public Health, our vendors and our guests in this decision. We look forward to a robust 4th of July in 2021 where we can pick our traditions back up and celebrate with each of you!
Thank you and be well,
Your Hometown Chamber Team
