Hello Chamber Members,

As the mild winter teases us we hope this newsletter finds you happy and healthy. Here at the BV Chamber & Visitor Center we’ve started 2018 with a bang!  We have been diligently working on improving the 2018 Visitor and Relocation Guide, getting ready for the BV Bash, and many other projects as we prepare for the busy summer season.

We are deep into the 2018 Buena Vista Visitor & Relocation Guide!  Thank you to all those who purchased ads and have contributed to the content!  We are doing the guide in-house and working diligently to make it as beautiful and functional as possible.  Our guide will feature a detailed index, charts, facts, and maps on all areas of recreation and businesses in our valley as well as information on relocation.  We are also pairing content, ads, and directory listings together throughout the guide and the detailed index will make navigation easy.  These guides get distributed throughout the state to 10 Colorado Welcome Centers, 50 Visitor Centers & Chambers, throughout Lake & Chaffee Counties, at DIA and Downtown Denver, at local events throughout Lake & Chaffee Counties, mailed out to visitors who purchase hard copies, free downloads from our website, and on social media.

The BV Bash–our annual Chamber and Community Recognition Banquet–is really coming together.  Thank you to our sponsors for making this possible!

  • Platinum Sponsors: Heart of the Rockies Radio and Rally Liquor
  • Gold Sponsors: D.J.D.J., Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, The Loft
Bronze Sponsors: Doumas Team Real Estate Remax, High Country Bank, Pinon Real Estate Group, and TBK Bank

Tickets are on sale now for the Bash.  You can buy them HERE!  We have already sold as many tickets as last year’s banquet!  Doors open at 5:30pm with dinner 6:00-7:20pm catered by Kalamatapit Catering and a cash bar featuring Vino Salida wine and Elevation beer.  The community recognition awards including Citizen of the Year will begin at 7:00pm.  Doors for the show open at 7:30pm with comedian Nancy Norton taking the stage at 8:00pm.  Add laughter to your spring with this versatile comedian who combines hilarious story-telling with a fast-paced improvisational style that leaves audiences with little time to catch their breath.  Keep the party going with D.J.D.J. music, drinks and dancing following the show until 11:00pm!  Come join us for what will surely be a great way to celebrate with friends, colleagues, and your community!

We are happy to announce that we received a $1300 grant from the Town of Buena Vista’s Community Support Grants!  We’ve teamed up with Buena Vista Heritage to work on updating our Historic Walking Tour and Scenic & Historic Driving Tour (including putting these into an app!). We will also be utilizing the money to create new brochures/tours for What Children Can Do.  We are creating these brochures/tours in house and if you are interested in helping with the research and feedback process contact us to find out how you can help!

We are now live on our website to register for our OHV Color Tour held September 18th though 22nd, 2018.  Please share this link with your guests, friends and family.  We can only accept 200 riders and this event usually fills up quickly.

In addition to all the work on the Guide, Bash and Tours we’ve had a busy new year with 8 new members joining this month!  See below for their information and be sure to welcome them to the Chamber and community! Additionally, we want to thank ALL our ongoing members for their continued support of the Chamber & Visitor Center and the community!

As always, we wish you all the very best and look forward to seeing you and celebrating with you at the BV Bash!

Warmest regards, The BV Chamber & Visitor Center Team

Hello! My name is Catherine Eichel, and I’m a professional Colorado wedding, family, and newborn photographer. My photography style is colorful, bold, and emotional, and I love to incorporate Colorado’s beautiful landscape. I specialize in mountaintop elopements, weddings, and engagements. My family shoots are free-spirited and playful – if your kiddos always refuse to smile during family portraits, I can turn that around!

I love to incorporate Colorado’s beautiful landscape in whatever work I am doing.  I specialize in international outdoor and mountaintop elopements, weddings, and engagements. If being outdoors makes you feel at peace and alive, I’m the photographer for you. As an experienced international backpacker and 14er summiter who is certified in Wilderness First Aid, you can trust you are in good hands in these wild and remote locations.

My family shoots are free-spirited and playful – if your kiddos always sulk during family portraits, I can turn that around. Instead of “smile at the camera”, we play games that gets the kids truly laughing – the more fun we’re having, the better the pictures will be!

I love traveling and shooting all over Colorado, especially Chaffee County and Gunnison County, including Salida, Buena Vista, Crested Butte, and Gunnison. For weddings, I do not charge a travel fee if it is within Colorado.
