MESSAGE FROM THE CHAMBER TEAM
Hello Chamber Members,
It is officially the Holiday season! We wish all of our Chamber Members a wonderful Holiday. To kick off this season, the Christmas Opening Event on Saturday, December 1st was widely successful. The goal of this event is town-wide participation plus unity, and it was achieved. Please join us for our December Business After Hours hosted by Collegiate Peaks Bank/Glacier Bank. The next focus of The Chamber is organizing and sending to print our 2019 Visitor & Relocation Guide. In addition, we are planning our next event which is the Wedding Expo on February 23rd.
The Board of Directors of the BV Chamber of Commerce has established a plan to make important organizational improvements designed to increase value to members and upgrade the resources we can provide to our community. We have also renewed our focus on collaborating with other Town of Buena Vista and Chaffee County organizations to maximize our collective productivity.
The improved operating structure of the Chamber and Visitor’s Center will be a challenge for our employees and the Board. But, we’re committed to these improvements, and believe they are in the best interest of our organization and the wider community. The Board encourages all of our community stakeholders to work with us as we proceed in this new direction. We also encourage any and all constructive criticism as we endeavor to prepare our organization for the future.
Please join us at the upcoming RoundTable Discussion scheduled for December 12 at BV Community Center (open to the public 6:30pm to 8:30pm). Also always feel free to reach out to your friendly neighborhood board members with any questions or concerns you may have. Thank you to our community for the tremendous support and input we have received during this process.
We hope you all were able to enjoy some part of the Christmas Opening Event. Please CLICK HERE for the entire schedule from the event. As mentioned above, this event showcases the entire town and would not have been possible without all the incredible participation. In discussion with event patrons, many where from outside of the Chaffee County area which was wonderful to see. We owe a big thank you to Chaffee County Tourism for their marketing outside of our immediate area. The Chocolate Walk sold a total of 112 cards and was a fundraiser for the Buena Vista Chamber and Visitor Center.
The Wedding Expo being held February 23rd is a brand new event hosted by the Buena Vista Chamber & Visitor Center. We are excited to bring an event that will showcase Buena Vista as a true wedding destination. The event will be held at the Surf’s Hotel Ivy Ballroom and will feature wedding associated vendors. In addition, a wedding site shuttle tour will be offered for participants to visit actual different wedding venues. Please let us know now if you would like to participate with a booth or offering or provide a sponsorship at this event. This event is being marketed in Rocky Mountain Bride and Wedding Sites & Services publications and websites, KOAA, and social media.
December Business After Hours will be held Thursday, December 13th at Collegiate Peaks Bank/Glacier Bank. The event will from 5:00-7:00pm and is for Chamber Members and invited guest. Contact us if you would like to be invited. Please note for this month it will not be the third Thursday like usual.
As always, we wish you all the very best! The BV Chamber & Visitor Center Team
