Hello Chamber Members,

We want to wish you all a happy spring!  Summer will surely be here before we know it.  Here at the Chamber & Visitor Center we made it through the BV Bash, are finishing up the 2018 Visitor & Relocation Guide and our summer vendor applications are live for the Spring Business Expo, Art in the Park, and Gold Rush Days!

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us at the BV Bash!  It was truly a splendid night at The Loft.  We had a wonderful time with fantastic food from  Kalamatapit Catering, beverages from Vino Salida wines, Elevation Beer Co. beers and cocktails thanks to Rally Liquors.  Congratulations to our Citizens of the Year Wrex and Bea Harnish! Congratulations to the Best of BV Winners and thanks to the Chaffee County Times for presenting!  We laughed until we cried with comedian Nancy Norton and danced till we dropped with D.J.D.J. music! We hope you all had as much fun as we did celebrating with friends, colleagues, and the community!  Thank you to our sponsors for making this event possible:

  • Platinum Sponsors: Heart of the Rockies Radio and Rally Liquor
  • Gold Sponsors: D.J.D.J., Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, The Loft
  • Bronze Sponsors: Doumas Team Real Estate Remax, High Country Bank, Pinon Real Estate Group, and TBK Bank

We are putting the final touches on the 2018 Buena Vista Visitor & Relocation Guide!  Thank you to all those who purchased ads and have contributed to the content!  We are doing the guide in-house and working diligently to make it as beautiful and functional as possible.  Our guide will feature a detailed index, charts, facts, and maps on all areas of recreation and businesses in our valley as well as information on relocation.  We are also pairing content, ads, and directory listings together throughout the guide and the detailed index will make navigation easy.  These guides get distributed throughout the state to 10 Colorado Welcome Centers, 50 Visitor Centers & Chambers, throughout Lake & Chaffee Counties, at DIA and Downtown Denver, at local events throughout Lake & Chaffee Counties, mailed out to visitors who purchase hard copies, free downloads from our website, and on social media.

On top of all of this, we are also moving along planning our spring and summer events!

  • The Spring Business Expo will be May 12th at the BVHS and McGinnis Middle School gymnasiums.  Find an application HERE if you are interested in having a booth.
  • We are also teaming up with Xi Mu to Co-Sponsor the Art In The Park fair on the 4th of July!  Applications can be found HERE.

Originally from Holland, Michigan, I moved to Colorado in 2008 to play volleyball for CU Boulder.  After college I attended massage school in Tucson, Arizona where I specialized in sports massage and deep tissue work.  After finishing school I was hired by the Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain in Tuscon.  After 5 years in Tucson I realized that Colorado would always be home.  I was able to transfer to the Ritz Carlton, Bachelor Gulch.  I decided to live in Buena Vista in 2014 to pursue my dream of being a raft guide.  I have been guiding in the summer while massaging in the winter for the last 2 years.  I am beyond excited to begin practicing in a community I love so much.  My massage work combines deep tissue, myofascial and trigger point therapy among other modalities.

Structural integration, or Rolfing, as a modality of body-work brought to us by the teachings of Ida P. Rolf. It is the practice of bringing people to a place of balance and ease in their everyday lives. The practitioner works with a client’s connective tissue (fascia) to help re-organize fascial layers, release old energy and let go of habitual movement patterns that are no longer helpful.

I was born and raised in a small town in Vermont.  I moved to Colorado in 2001 to study herbal medicine and to snowboard.  After sever years of being a “ski bum” I enrolled in Boulder College of Massage where I completed a 1000-hour program in 2008.  Continuous education keeps me engaged in my work, which is constantly evolving.  I have studied Swedish, Sports, Orthopedic, Shiatsu, Myoskeletal Alignment, Polarity Therapy, Myofascial, Neuromuscular and Lomi Lomi.  I don’t specialize in any one modality but draw from my knowledge base to cater to each individual’s needs.  I feel blessed to do this work.  It brings me a sense of serenity and keeps me grounded.  I could study bodywork for a lifetime and still know so little so I am constantly motivated to keep learning.  Outside of work, I cherish my time with my family enjoying all the beauty that surrounds us here in this amazing state!
