Join us in Buena Vista, Colorado for a spectacular 4th of July Celebration!

Our Independence Day includes present day allure with past day charm.  We have something to please everyone in the family starting with a pancake breakfast at 7:00 am, Independence 5K, Art in the Park from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Patriotic Parade at 10:00 am, Kids Games at 11:30 am, and Live Music at McPhelemy Park. Come early or stay late!  We have our Farmers Market July 1st and 8th.  On June 30 enjoy the Mountain Mania Car Show and June 29 – July 1 The Rapids & Grass Beer Fest.  Or, visit our Historic Comanche Drive In Theatre 3 miles West on Hwy 306. On July 5 we have our Concerts in the Park.

Where:  McPhelemy Park intersection of Hwy 24 and Main Street.  The 4th of July parade ends at the park!
Cost:  $55.00 for a 12 by 12 booth


Come celebrate in our nation’s birthday by viewing or participating in the parade.  Here’s how:

Spectators – The parade will start at 10 am on Wednesday, July 4th. 
It is on Main Street in downtown Buena Vista, Colorado, starting at Court Street (East Main St.) and proceeding west along Main St. (across Hwy 24) to San Juan St.  Bring your chair, bags for the kiddos to collect candy and water!  Enjoy!

Businesses, organizations or community members are asked to enter a float, or walking display in our 4th of July Parade! Click here to register it is free.

   – There is no registration fee, donations are kindly accepted for this non-profit event – click here to donate.  You must sign and turn in a release at the beginning of the parade to participate.  Must sign a release form when you complete your online registration – click here.

Parade Participants Queue from 9:00 am and 9:30 am – Pick up Number & Directions in front of the BV Heritage Museum (old courthouse) at 506 E. Main (corner of Court and Main).  Please come as a group if you want to be in parade as a group.


Kids are encouraged to decorate their pets or bikes and join the 4th of July Parade. 

The three best bikes and three best pets will receive 5 dollars each and a ribbon.

We invite you, your business, non-profit organization or town service to celebrate our nation’s birthday by participating in Buena Vista’s 4th of July Independence Parade.  Complete the online free registration to sign up to be in the parade.  Businesses and organizations are asked to enter a float. We hope you will participate with your float as this is what showcases the character and charm of our community.  There is no registration fee, donations are kindly accepted. You must turn in a release at the start of the parade, you will receive a link to download the release when you complete the free online registration.
