Christmas Card Lane

The town has informed me that Christmas Card Lane will not be going up on highway property this year. We are open to suggestions for other locations. I will be refunding money to those of you who have already paid for your card if we cannot work something out.

Christmas Opening

The kick off to our holiday season will be Saturday December 3rd.  We are once again having our Chocolate Walk from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM.  There is no cost to a business to participate in this event other than providing the chocolate. If you would like your business to take part in the Chocolate Walk, please contact the Chamber of Commerce or Renee Graner, the event coordinator at 719-207-0650.  This year we are charging participants $1.00 per card and are making sure they have to visit different sections of town.  Game cards may be picked up at the Chamber building.  The Chamber will be open December 3rd for card purchases and for any questions.

Pinon Real Estate is now at their new downtown location at 306 E Main St. and has given the Chamber overwhelming support for our Christmas Opening. They will be hosting Santa Claus from 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM and will be showing The Polar Express from 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM. This is a great opportunity for our members to do a little holiday shopping while their kids watch the movie.

Visitor and Relocation Chamber Guide

We are once again working with Ashley Ahlene at CO Creative LLC to build the 2017 Visitor and Relocation Guide and are now accepting ads.  If you would like to reserve your place in the book, please contact us immediately.  The deadline for submitting an ad is December 20th, 2016.  12,000 guides will be printed and distributed at DIA, downtown Denver,  all CO Visitor Centers, all local realtors and motels and mailed upon request. It may be viewed on our website and downloaded pdf.  This year the CCVB guide is a ‘lure piece’ with no ads; our guide is Buena Vista specific.  The 2017 guide is going to be “coffee table” quality and we don’t want anyone to miss their opportunity to be a part of this book! We have a limited number of ads this year so do not wait!

Sponsorship Opportunities in 2017

As a member of the Chamber Commerce, you have the opportunity to become involved with one or several of our events throughout the year.  Sponsoring these events can mean you provide a service, product, or financial contribution to the event.  We are striving to plan one year out so we all may plan our budgets.  Sponsorship is a great way for our businesses to take an active part in our community events and we greatly appreciate your kind support.  The more support we have, the more we can do to help our businesses thrive.  Call or email us for the sponsorship levels and let us know which of these events YOU would like to sponsor:

  • Buena Vista Business Expo (formerly called Trade Show), April 2017

This is an annual event that gives the Buena Vista area a chance to attend business related seminars including employee training and marketing, information on starting a business in the area, search or advertise for employment, advertise and collect information for home improvement and gather information for renting or buying a home.

  • 4th of July

The Chamber of Commerce in tandem with the Town of Buena Vista stage the annual 4th of July Celebration.  This event attracts the greater part of the area’s population as well as out of towners and features kids’ games, a parade down Main St, historic demonstrations, crafts, food sales and lots of family fun.

  • Gold Rush Days Music and Brew, August 12-13

Gold Rush Days is a long standing family tradition in Buena Vista and occurs at the same time as the third leg of the Burro Races.  The new face of Gold Rush Days will include quality merchants and will have libations, great music and local food.  Our goal is to create a real festival atmosphere that will appeal to all ages, to celebrate Buena Vista heritage and for the fair to extend all the way to South Main. Think of ways your business can be part of the fun to grow this event town wide!

  • ATV Historical Color Tour September 19-24

The ATV Color Tour draws visitors from all over the country to participate in trail rides throughout the county.  Businesses that provide meals/libations, outdoor gear, lodging and/or evening entertainment would benefit the most from sponsoring this event.  Or maybe you are an ATVer who would like to support this event.

  • Annual Chamber Member’s Gala, October TBA

This event is the annual all member chamber meeting made into a social event and fundraiser.  The theme varies every year and is when we introduce the new board members.  The Citizen of the Year is announced at this event.

  • Christmas Opening, December 2

Christmas Opening is the lighting of Main Street, the equine and the festival of lights parade, the appearance of Santa Claus and several other activities that support our retailers during the winter season.  We encourage all businesses to participate in this event either as a financial sponsor or by hosting/ participating in an event at your store.

SPONSORSHIPS START AS LOW AS $250 FOR EACH  EVENT.  CALL  OR EMAIL US AND LET US KNOW WHICH EVENT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SPONSOR.  THE SOONER WE KNOW OUR SPONSORS, THE SOONER WE CAN START PROMOTING YOUR BUSINESS!
