Buena Vista, Colorado – The Town of Buena Vista and Buena Vista Main Street Board of Directors is partnering with the Buena Vista Chamber of Commerce to promote the second annual Small Business Saturday on November 25 (the Saturday after Thanksgiving). The event, sponsored by American Express, is a national holiday shopping tradition that encourages residents and visitors alike to support small businesses in our community the day after Black Friday.

Many businesses in Buena Vista are already signed up to participate by providing discounts, promotions, and specials to boost the event and encourage shopping locally. BV Main street will also distribute #shopsmall promotional materials (tote bags, flyers, balloons, etc.), provided by AmEx, to participating businesses and shoppers. On November 25th, BV Main Street will host a “Welcome Station” at Rise Chiropractic (301 E. Main St.) to provide information to shoppers as well as free cider, coffee, and snacks.

Businesses and shoppers can help get the word out and celebrate Small Business Saturday by using #shopsmall on Facebook and all of your social networks. Updates and information can be found by following BV Main Street at facebook.com/BuenaVistaMainStreet. Thank you for all of your support, and see you Saturday, November 25th!

The Envision Chaffee County project has a community survey out and we would like to make sure all Chamber members take the time to fill it out (it is not a long survey and it is confidential). Please also share this with your employees as well.

The link is: www.envisionchaffeecounty.org

Envision has had 700 responses already – with a target of 2,000 (which may be the biggest response in Chaffee’s history!).  The 1,000th person to take the survey wins $100 and #2000 will get $200. The results will help us create a vision for Chaffee County that maintains what is special about this place as we grow and prosper.

Believe it or not it is time to start thinking about Christmas Card Lane.  These are holiday cards – to celebrate the season; not billboards with phone numbers.  The High School art teacher says her class can paint a total of ten cards. This includes touching up the paint on old cards if you think yours need freshening up.  A new card is $125. If you would like a card to celebrate the holiday season, or would like to help make this event happen, please call the Chamber at 719-395-6612.  We may not have a prison crew to help set the holiday cards up so we could use some help to make this tradition happen.
