Colorado Inventory of Water Assets Study
The Open Water Foundation (OWF) is conducting a survey to complete a statewide “Inventory of Assets” to connect the dots around the region and between the water sector at the intersection of water innovation. This effort will help our Colorado community tackle the complex water challenges we face by understanding the gaps and assessing opportunities in the water innovation ecosystem. This survey asks critical questions to help form an organized water innovation coalition to support Colorado’s water sector.

We need your help to collect this data, so please complete the survey or send to other stakeholders by March 30th. For more information, contact Louann DeCoursey at louann.decoursey@openwaterfoundation.org.

If you have already completed the survey, thank you. If you have started the survey, please finish as your answers are so valuable in understanding the Colorado water innovation ecosystem.

BV street constructionProject Update for the Week of March 26, 2017:

STAY INFORMED: This is for the US 24 Buena Vista Project

Construction work continues on the Buena Vista Enhancement Project along US 24 between Mill Street and Crossman Avenue. Activities include the installation of new concrete curbs, gutters, utility conduits, sidewalks and other roadway features. Paving operations on the east side of US 24 are underway. Cottonwood Avenue  and Cedar Street, located to the east of US 24, will be closed due to culvert repairs. Working hours are 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Friday, as weather allows.

On Monday, through Friday (March 27-31), there will be alternating lane closures on southbound US 24 in front of the City Market (between Mill Street and Oak Street). Access to the City Market will be maintained, but certain entrances will be closed periodically. These temporary lane closures are required for the installation of storm sewer improvements and inlets, and will reduce flooding in the area. East Arkansas Street will also be closed on Monday and will re-open on Tuesday.

Traffic is expected to return to its previous alignment for the remainder of the week, with all traffic shifted to the west side of US 24. One lane will remain open in each direction.

In the future, crews will require a full closure of the US 24 / Main Street intersection. We will provide further updates in our subsequent emails.

STAY INFORMED: The best way to receive regular updates about the construction progress is to sign up at CDOT’s website www.codot.gov/projects/us-24-buena-vista-enhancement-project. If you have questions or comments, contact the project team at the information hotline, 719.398.0819 or by email at us24buenavista@PublicInfoTeam.com.

Boys & Girls Club of Chaffee County  Seeks Professional Videographer

The members of the Public Relations and Marketing Committee of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chaffee County are seeking a professional artistic videographer to create a three to four minute video for their nonprofit nationally recognized organization. The goal of the project is to produce a video that captures with emotional artistry the activities and impact of the Clubs. Board members will use the video to connect the Clubs with supporters, families and friends. Firm deadline for project completion is August 31, with a possibility of establishing an ongoing relationship and further projects on an annual basis with the BGCCC.

Committee members will accept proposals until Friday, March 10. Submissions should include video samples of work, cost proposal for the project, three professional references and three personal references (either via letter form or contact information) and a 100-word statement about the artist’s interest in the project. Finalists will be invited to present their proposal to board members at their Wednesday, March 22 meeting in Salida and final approval of a videographer will be subject to a background check.

Financial supporters for this project are also needed. For more information or to submit a proposal please contact Executive Director Brian Beaulieu at 719-539-9500 or email director@bgcchaffee.org.
