BV Optimist Square Splash Park

Younger children will love the thrill of the Buena Vista Optimist Square Splash Park downtown at the corner of East Main Street and Railroad Street. Bring your sunscreen, let the kids play in the spray pool, and then walk down the street to grab some food, ice cream or frozen yogurt.

Columbine Park

Columbine Park is located on Highway 24, just south of the stoplight in downtown Buena Vista, behind K’s Dairy Delite.

This park is spacious and includes a large playground area.

Buena Vista Community Center

Located at the east end of Main Street, the Buena Vista Community Center is a great location to host meetings, presentations, special events and a variety of other activities. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis.

Buena Vista Rodeo Grounds

The Buena Vista Rodeo Grounds is located on County Road 321 just west of the Gregg Drive intersection. The oversized arena, bucking chutes and now extinct horse race track was constructed in the 1920’s. The site has been home to the Colorado Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA) sanctioned Collegiate Peaks Stampede Rodeo for more than 90 consecutive years.

The facility is suitable for a variety of equestrian events and large crowd gatherings and has spacious parking areas. Also featured is an off-leash dog area that makes a one-mile loop where canines can run free! Please utilize the clean-up stations provided and stocked with bags for easy disposal of waste.

Disc Golf Course

Nestled within the confines of the River Park, the frisbee golf course is fun for those of all skill levels. If you’re a beginner or even a pro, come out and enjoy this great course and the beautiful scenery that comes along with it! The Buena Vista Disc Golf Course is located next to the Little League field, just to the west of the soccer field in the River Park.

Dog Park

The Buena Vista Dog Park is an off-leash area located close to the Buena Vista River Park. Let your furry friends do some exploring at this awesome park! Located across from the Community Center on East Main Street, the dog park offers two areas: one designated for small dogs and one for larger breeds. Please be considerate of others and use the waste stations to clean up after your dog. Be responsible pet owners and only bring dogs that are sociable and friendly.

Forest Square Park

Home to the Buena Vista Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center, the Forest Square Park is complete with a swing set and pavilion. This park is located on U.S. Highway 24, three blocks south of the stoplight in downtown Buena Vista.

Millie Crymble Park

Located on Marquette Avenue just east of Buena Vista High School, the Millie Crymble Park is within walking distance of various subdivisions. You’ll enjoy a safe, fenced-in field area for sports play, two swing sets and a playground. Picnic tables are also available, so make it a day to enjoy the views and have some fun with the kids.

McPhelemy Park

Pack a picnic and spend the afternoon at McPhelemy Park, a fantastic spot to throw a frisbee, toss in a fishing line or splash in the pond with a stand up paddle board. McPhelemy Park is situated behind the intersection of Highway 24 and Main Street. Step back in time as you explore the Buena Vista Depot, located in the park, which now serves as a transportation and railroad museum. You’ll learn about the importance of the railroad systems in the 1890s, including the Colorado Midland, Denver South Park & Pacific and Denver & Rio Grande railroads. McPhelemy Park is also home to Buena Vista’s “Concerts in the Park” as well as a variety of other events, such as Paddle on the Pond.

Remote Control Airstrip

Come soar to great heights! The Buena Vista Remote Control Airstrip is located to the west of the Buena Vista Rodeo Grounds. Complete with a paved runway, this is the perfect place to come try out your remote control aircraft.

River Walk

This trail follows along the Arkansas River connecting the South Main area to the Recreation Area to the north of the River Park. This path is beginning level and is perfect for individuals of all ages! Come down and walk next to the river; during the summer months you’ll be sure to see various species of animals, and in winter you may even catch a glimpse of a bald eagle. Plus, with a view like ours, who could resist this beautiful experience?

River Park

The renowned Buena Vista River Park is located at the end of East Main Street and is situated next to the Arkansas River. From the River Park there is easy access to various mountain biking and hiking trails via the Barbara Whipple Trail system. This park also houses the Buena Vista Skate Park, Dog Park and Disc Golf Course.

Whitewater Park

The Buena Vista Whitewater Park has recently been expanded downstream into the South Main Neighborhood development. With 5 main whitewater structures and numerous eddy and trail improvements, as well as climbing walls and trails, the Buena Vista Play Park is quickly becoming the premier whitewater park in Colorado. All of the features have been fine-tuned to optimize hydraulic performance and to incorporate everything from beginner friendly waves to play holes designed for maximum air time.

Skate Park

Ready to ride some sweet rails or take on a sick jump? The Buena Vista Skate Park is located just south of the Community Center. As part of the River Park, this area is easily accessible from both East Main Street and South Main.

South Main Town Square

This park is located in the new South Main development along the Arkansas River. You’ll find the Buena Vista Boulder Garden for climbing, access to the whitewater park, and fun outdoor activities at this location.
