MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Hello Chamber Members,

Happy 4th of July! We are excited to be putting on and organizing the July 4th Parade and Art in the Park. We have been very busy helping the large amount of visitors who stop into our location. Our busiest day saw 87 visitors in one day! Not to mention all the countless phone calls and emails for information. Gold Rush Days is coming together to be a wonderful event, full of vendors and activities plus loads of live music.

If you have not already picked up a copy of The Ark Magazine please do. Our 8 page insert in their magazine this month came out amazing and lists all the numerous events going on in town for July 4th. Art in the Park has over sold the predetermined vendor booth spaces that we actually have had to create additional booth spaces. In addition to Art in the Park going on from 9am-3pm, there also will be Kid’s Games and Live Music too.

Businesses, organizations or community members are asked to enter a float, or walking display in our 4th of July Parade! There is still time to register! Click here to register it is free. We hope you will participate with your float as this is what showcases the character and charm of our community.

We do want to give a warm thank you to our following 4th of July Sponsors – Rally Liquor, Liar’s Lodge, and ReMax Mountain Vista Properties. Our sponsors are a huge help with assisting in the success of a wonderful holiday celebration.

Additionally, we are growing Gold Rush Days on August 11 and 12th.  We’ve teamed up with Jamie Wolkenbreit at The Ark Magazine to bring you a fantastic music lineup.  Our music headliner Chris Daniels and the Kings as well as many other local favorites are sure to make you boogie.  Vendor Applications can be found HERE. We are still in need of more vendors for this event.

If you are interested in sponsoring, volunteering, or participating in any of our events, contact us at the Chamber to find out about opportunities and details.

Website: http://www.firststreetflooring.com

First Street Flooring is proud to have been a vital part of the Salida community in some form since 1910. In 2008, the store moved to their new home on Third Street….hence, First Street Flooring on Third!
First Street Flooring has a magnificent show room where you can come to pick your floor covering (hardwood, laminate, vinyl, carpet and tile), back splashes, window coverings and Oreck vacuums. Their team is knowledgeable and are here to help you from the concept, all the way to completion. They have worked with the same subcontractors for 10+ years now and are happy to be the liaison between them and you.
Owners Aaron and Pip Conrad moved to the area 16 years ago and wanted to find a way to stay here permanently. In 2006 they bought First Street Flooring and have not looked back. The most rewarding part of their work is the amount of donations they have been able to put back into the community. They are proud to have extensively given back to numerous local organizations, through voluntary hours, in kind donations not to mention financial assistance.  Come see them today!
